Getting Results

The doctor will advise you as to how to obtain your results. You will be asked to ring us or you will be contacted by us should your doctor wish to see you about the results. If you have any concerns about your results please don't hesitate to contact us. .

After hours care 

Our Doctors provide on call after hours care for Sapphire Clinic patients and details can be obtained by ringing 64 954700, and directions will be given. Please note that the South East Regional Hospital in Bega also provide to the public, 24 hour emergency care.

Home visits

Home visits are available for regular patients of the practice who are unable to attend the surgery because of their medical condition. Visits are also made to Albert Moore Gardens Hostel, Hugh Cunningham Gardens and Imlay District Nursing Home. Home visits will not be bulk billed unless by special arrangement.

Your Medical Record

This confidential document is a valuable resource in your long term medical care. In keeping with modern practice the information is held electronically. A great deal of effort is made to keep the record accurate and complete. Procedures to keep the record secure from unauthorized access, theft and physical loss e.g. fire are in place. A summary is available free at any time and patients are encouraged to ask for this; please update us on any errors.

More detailed reports can be provided for a fee. Your medical record is a confidential document please note however that referrals to other health professionals include your past medical history unless you tell us that a condition is confidential. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorized members of staff.

From time to time the practice Doctors take part in research and educational activity which involve presentation of de-identified medical records to organizations outside the practice. During accreditation of the practice an outside GP will select and review a sample of records in order to assess the quality of record keeping. If you wish to have your record excluded from such outside inspection please notify us.

If you have a problem please feel free to talk to the Doctor or Reception Staff. We take your concerns, suggestions and complaints seriously and have made available a suggestion box or maybe you can write to us. If you wish to take the matter further outside the surgery, several other options are available including The Medical Registration Board, AMA or Health Care Complaints (details below)

Communicating with our team

Your doctor will want to know if you are having any problems with your health care. To ensure your consult is not interrupted we limit telephone calls to our GPs during consultation times. If you would like to speak with your GP please ask our reception staff to send a message to your GP with a brief reason for the call. These messages will be viewed by the GP at the end of consultation time. If you need to speak with a health professional during consultation time please ask to speak to our nursing staff. We do not routinely send emails or SMS reminders – this is available by patient request.
