COVID-19 Vaccination at Sapphire Clinic

Sapphire Clinic is involved in the COVID-19 Vaccination Program.

We are offering 4th dose Booster Vaccinations (Pfizer) from May, 2022. Please ring to book in.

Currently, we have completed clinics for 3rd dose Booster Vaccinations and Vaccinations for 5 to 11 years old. To access COVID-19 vaccinations, please attend either South East Regional Hospital, Bega or your nearest pharmacy.

We believe all the COVID-19 vaccines are a huge step forward in beating this disease and encourage those eligible to receive this vaccine. All doctors and staff at Sapphire Clinic who are eligible will be having the COVID-19 vaccine.

Important: Once booked into a vaccination clinic, we ask that you either download or pick up patient information along with a consent form, read through these and bring them to the clinic on the day of vaccination.

If you have any questions regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, please book in to see your doctor PRIOR to your booked vaccination appointment.

We will be operating a standby cancellation list for patients who can be called up on short notice, in case an available vaccination spot becomes available.

If you answer YES, to any of the following questions, you may not be suitable to have the COVID-19 vaccination. Please see your doctor to discuss.

Have you or are you

had any severe allergies, particularly anaphylaxis (to anything), or carry or have been prescribed an adrenaline autoinjector (e.g. EpiPen™).
had a reaction to a vaccine in the past or ingredients of vaccines
had any bleeding issues (including blood clots) or are receiving anticoagulant therapy (a blood thinner)
pregnant
breastfeeding
any respiratory symptoms
received another COVID-19 vaccine
received any vaccine in the last 14 days

On the Day of vaccination

Reception will confirm on the day that you are booked in for vaccination, that you will be attending.

We understand there may be instances, for example if you become unwell and are unable to attend your booked vaccination. We ask that if you cannot make it, you let the clinic know as soon as possible. This means we can offer this spot to another person, and limit wastage.

You should not attend a COVID-19 vaccination appointment if you:

Are unwell with fever, cough, runny nose or other symptoms that could be from COVID-19.
Are awaiting COVID-19 test results.
Have tested positive with COVID-19 and you are in isolation.
Are in quarantine.
Are a close contact of someone with COVID-19.
Have received any other vaccine in the last 14 days (including influenza vaccinations).

Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your booked vaccination clinic and time.

Your doctor will go through any questions, and get you to sign your consent on the day of vaccination.

Post vaccination, you will be required to stay for 15 minutes for observation (up to 30 minutes in some cases).

It is common that you may experience side effects of tenderness/redness/ pain at the site of the injection, flu like symptoms, fatigue, muscle and joint pain. Most side effects will resolve after a few days. However, if you have a reaction that you are concerned about, please seek medical attention.

Doctors and nurses involved with the COVID-19 vaccination program at Sapphire Clinic have all completed the mandatory training as required by the Department of Health.
