Dr Geoffrey Thomas

GP Registrar Supervisor

After 7 years hospital training and 8 years with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Dr Thomas settled in beautiful Merimbula. Geoff’s experience is diverse with experience in paediatrics, emergency medicine, anaesthetics, hospital medicine, aboriginal health and aviation medicine!

Geoff says, “I’ve seen what medicine can and can’t cure, nowadays I’m interested in helping people achieve the best quality of life available to them”.

Geoff’s interests include diabetes, obesity and lifestyle medicine.

Dr Thomas is currently not accepting new patients.

Dr Yin Lee

MBBS, Dip of Child Health, DRANZCOG (Adv), FRACGP

GP Registrar Supervisor

Dr Yin Lee is a GP with special interest in Women’s Health. She has an Advanced Diploma in Women’s Health as well as a Diploma in Child Health.

Dr Lee also works at the Bega Hospital Maternity Unit as a GP Obstetrician. She is experienced with antenatal care, family planning and general gynaecology.

Her other interests include chronic disease management and preventative health.

Dr Lee may accept new antenatal patients pending capacity.

Dr Corin Miller

B Sc(Exercise), MBBS, Dip of Child Health, FRACGP

Dr Corin Miller is a specialist General Practitioner with a passion for children’s health. She loves being part of the team at Sapphire Clinic in addition to her work in the Department of Paediatrics at Southeast Regional Hospital, Bega. In her hospital role, she provides care for neonates (newborns), plus inpatient, outpatient and telehealth care for babies and children. She also has extensive experience working in Emergency Medicine.

Corin’s special interests include providing care for children and young people with general medical problems, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and mood difficulties. She is also passionate about caring for children with complex and chronic illnesses and those in out-of-home care.

Corin loves teaching both junior doctors and medical students, for which she received an award for “teaching excellence in clinical supervision”. She is also a Clinical Editor for Health Pathways, an online portal for healthcare professionals.

When Corin isn’t caring for the families and children of the Sapphire Coast, she is keeping active with her young family and enjoying her vegetable garden.

Dr Jessica Weber

BMedSc,  MCHD, FRACGP

Dr Jess Weber grew up in Canberra and completed her medical degree at the Australian National University in 2018 after an extended 12-month rural placement in Moruya/Bateman’s Bay. Following graduation, she gained valuable experience during her intern year at Southeast Regional Hospital, where she undertook rotations in general medicine, general surgery, emergency, and general practice.

Dr. Weber continued to broaden her medical expertise over the next two years at the Canberra Hospital, working in paediatrics, emergency, surgery, and geriatrics. She then spent 12 months as a locum, serving rural communities in various locations, including the South Coast, Griffith, Mildura, and Port Lincoln. Through her travels, she discovered that nothing could compare to the lifestyle and community on the South Coast.

Recently completing her Fellowship, Dr. Weber is passionate about all aspects of General Practice. In her spare time, she enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and exploring the outdoors. She’s excited to be back in the region she loves, providing comprehensive care to the local community.

Dr Angelina Che

BSc (Hons) MCHD

Now a newly fellowed General Practitioner, Angelina joined us from Cooma where she commenced her early years of GP training as well as emergency department hospital work. Prior to this, Angelina completed her junior medical training at Nepean in the Blue Mountains health district with varied specialties including medicine, surgery, paediatrics, emergency department and obstetrics and gynaecology.
Angelina has a wide range of skills with experience in rural and regional settings. She has a special interest in women’s health, GP obstetrics shared care, paediatrics, skin excisions and family planning services.
Dr Angelina Che is currently on sabbatical leave for the remainder of 2025.

Dr Leon Woh

BMedSc/MD

Dr Leon Woh is our GP Registrar for 2025 and joins Sapphire Clinic to commence his GP training. Undertaking most of his medical training in Canberra, Leon has gained experience in respiratory and sleep medicine, emergency medicine, medical oncology and haematology. More recently, Leon spent time at Moruya Hospital, working in general medicine. As a dedicated aspiring GP, Leon’s passion lies in providing high-quality primary care with a strong focus on compassion, trust, and long-term patient relationships. Leon is eager to embark on a fulfilling career, addressing diverse health needs, supporting patients’ well-being, and making a meaningful impact on the community.

Leanne O’Brien

Endorsed Enrolled Nurse

Leanne, our practice nurse, was born and raised right here in the Bega Valley and is a proud member of our community. With over  40 years of experience in general practice, she brings a wealth of knowledge and clinical expertise to our team. Leanne’s extensive background in patient care and her deep understanding of local healthcare needs make her an invaluable asset to Sapphire Clinic.

Known for her enthusiastic and cheerful nature, Leanne is always eager to support our doctors and provide compassionate, high-quality care to our patients. Whether assisting with procedures, managing patient care plans, or simply offering a friendly smile, she is dedicated to ensuring that every patient feels comfortable and well-cared for. Leanne’s passion for nursing and commitment to her role are evident in everything she does.

We are thrilled to have a true local like Leanne on our team and know that her dedication and approachable personality will continue to make a positive impact on our patients and the broader community.

Alice Wiebe

BoN, Registered Nurse

We are excited to welcome Alice to the team as our new practice nurse! Born and raised in the beautiful Bega Valley, Alice has a deep connection to the local community. From a young age, Alice knew nursing was her calling, which led her to pursue a Bachelor of Nursing degree at the University of Wollongong. Graduating in 2024, Alice brings a fresh perspective and up-to-date knowledge in patient care to Sapphire Clinic.

Outside of work, Alice is a huge fan of Dachshund dogs and has a beloved pet named Ottily. With a friendly and approachable nature, Alice is excited to get to know our patients and provide the compassionate, patient-centered care we all deliver here at Sapphire Clinic.

Cath Bischof

Practice Manager- BoN, Registered Nurse

We are pleased to welcome our new Practice Manager, Cath, who moved to the area last year from Sydney with her young family. A Registered Nurse by background, Cath previously specialised in the care of premature and sick newborns and has also worked with the Australian Red Cross Blood Service and the Australian Bone Marrow Donor Registry. Her experience in both clinical and community health settings has equipped her with a well-rounded understanding of patient care and healthcare management.

Her unique blend of hands-on nursing experience and management capabilities helps to support the team and contributes to the smooth running of the clinic. With her nursing and administrative background, Cath aims to foster a positive and welcoming environment for both staff and patients alike.
